GEA mailing list goes on — website will be closed down
Dear all,

The GEA website existed since 1985, that's 40 years now!
Made possible by many people who helped in one way or another.
Thanks for that!

Seen a dwindling audience in our area and the age of the maintainers, we will shut down the website at the end of this year 2025.
What does that mean for you?
— We will keep the mailing list as it is now, open to everybody and also
open for other announcements, not just strictly 'events'.
— Anyone who feels that some company would be nice for an event (s)he
wants to attend, or wants to organize a theatre visit or a meal, etc.
just makes an announcement on the mailing list.
— There will be no more Google events calendar, not on the website and
not at Google.
— There will of course be no monthly 'Call for events' any more, and no
monthly published programme.
The mailing list's email addresses remain:
— Posting: <mailings@gea-muc.de>
(and hopefully any answer will be addressed to the sender only, not
the mailing list),
— Subscribe: <subscribe@gea-muc.de>,
— Unsubscribe: <unsubscribe@gea-muc.de>.

And there will no longer be a GEA Programme Team and its email address <programme@gea-muc.de>.
Instead, use <mailings@gea-muc.de> or one of the addresses listed below.
The outgoing GEA Programme Team will still act as moderators:
Ute Becker — <ute@gea-muc.de>,
Jim Burgess — <jim@gea-muc.de>,
Harald Cramer — <harald@gea-muc.de>.

Have a peaceful, prosperous and healthy New Year.
Ute Becker, Jim Burgess, Harald Cramer
