Programme No. 344 — September 2010

Editor's Comments

Farewell to the printed programme

With the strange summer weather we have been having this year we have had lots of practice in dealing with events advertised directly in the web.
A few issues back I told you that I would be gone and back to do the September programme and: here I am.
But(!) it will be the last one I do. Yes, I will resign. My apologies to those of you who are not yet hooked up to electronics. My experience is that the grapevine is also very effective. And, in our money-earning jobs we have been taught the line:
There is no one who could not be replaced.
It looks like there won’t be a natural person to help advertise your great events but instead we will rely on cyberspace.
I thank you for entrusting me with the assignment as editor.
I did enjoy doing the programme. After two years, I feel that the time is ripe for a change.

And what now?

We will of course continue to publish the programme on this website as before -
as long as YOU provide us with your events.
And this programme does print out quite nicely. Don't believe? Try it out!
That same programme will also continue to be published by email over the GEA mailing list.
Haven't joined yet? See the box on the right.
